After a NFL roundtable deal announced in August, the live broadcast platform SportsCastr announced a parliamentary session with the National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) to power the fans’ live, interactive video content.
WNBA Players Association ink deal with ICO
In partnership with WNBPA’s group licensing and player-marketing representative organization, REP Worldwide, SportsCastr will make basketball fans enjoy exclusive content from the world’s most exclusive women’s professional basketball players, using SportsCastr’s FanChain coin.
CCN reported that SportsCastr signed a similar agreement with the NFL Players’ Association and allowed fans to be color commenters and access to exclusive content and player information.
As an echo of the groundbreaking NFL deal, current WNBA players will be invited to use the SportsCastr platform to give their fans live commentary on various vocational and college sports and to share personal information and other content.
SportsCastr will bring together all the player content and provide a special portal for WNBPA that will provide fans with a leaderboard to explore the most popular player streams.
Speaking at the partnership, WNBPA Operations Director Terri Jackson said:
“The fans want authentic interaction, and thanks to the SportsCastr live streaming platform, there’s another exciting way for our players to bring fans together in real time. This innovative technology is also ideal for creating unique group licensing opportunities through REP Worldwide, which brings fans and players closer together. ”

In June, CCN reported that FanChain CryptoCurrency was backed by former NBA commissioner David Stern. FanChain allows users watching sports events to offer their own live commentary, allowing them to choose which sports commentary to listen to and choose to participate.
Users will be rewarded for their popularity by using FanChain tokens, which will then effectively reward users for joining the SportsCastr platform. Tokens can be used on the platform to unlock the premium player content, buy sports tickets or merchandise, and send virtual gifts to the players.
Following the NFLPA agreement, the WNBPA agreement represents another step forward in the goal of making SportsCastr’s FanChain an icon everywhere in the sporting industry.
SportsCastr CEO Kevin April, who gave his thoughts, said:
“From NFLPA to WNBPA, we have a mission to provide a platform for all fans and athletes to have a sese. Thanks to the WNBPA partnership, which provides fans with live interactive video and exclusive content from direct players, the talents and personalities of these incredible female athletes will be displayed for future generations of fans. ”
According to information from the company, WNBA players will start using the platform in the third quarter of 2018 and will be driven to the market with the SportsCastr WNBPA ported S4.
